The mystic Bokor Hill Station is a kind of its own, being built in the 1920s and abandoned shortly after, leaving only a few ruins on this 1000m high mountain. At the moment Sokimex is building a 36 holes golf course, a 300 bed room hotel, a casino as well as a hospital, at a total cost of 1 billion Dollar! At the moment the authorities only allow guided tours to Bokor and you have to walk for 5 hours, 3 hours up and 2 hours down. Good shoes and good conditions are a must for this challenge. The costs are also quite high with around 35$ per person.

The Angkoul Beach, in the 60ties the swimming beach for the rich and famous is now deserted but still very beautiful, with clean white sand, shallow water and about 2km long. You will find a few deckchairs with parasols and a khmer lady selling cold drinks. At the moment there is no food there, so if you go there, take a lunch pack. Kukuluku organizes boat trips there, otherwise you can take a Tuk Tuk (about 40min, around 17$).

Kompong Trach with its limestone caves are an adventure and will you cool down form the heat. There is even a swimming cave with cool, clean water inside the cave.

A must while in Kep is for sure to eat in one of the many restaurants at the Crab Market. On weekends Kep is full of Khmers eating the best crabs in Cambodia together with the local pepper, once famous allover the world.

The Pepper Plantations near Phnom Voir are worth a visit to get some of the black gold. A few hundred meters down the road from the plantation and you will find a lovely new Guest House, The Vine Retreat, a great spot for a cold drink or a snack.

Trekking around the Kep National Park (8km) with some great viewpoints and a lot of wildlife will for sure fascinate you. The trek can be accessed via a small path just behind our guest house or via the road to Veranda Resort. The trek has many signs so it can be done easily by yourself. But if you like we can organize you a guide.

Or if you like to swim under a waterfall, the Tekchhou rapids near Kampot, with cristal clear mountain water, surrounded by tropical rain forest. Plenty of food stalls will make sure that nobody leaves hungry. Try the garlic and honey chicken.

The provincial capital Kampot, 20min away from Kep is full with old colonial buildings, a wide range of restaurants and a big market as well as good infrastructure (eg. Internet, Banks, bookshops and night clubs).

Our relatively new pool with one of the best views in South East Asia down to the ocean and to Bokor mountain invites to chill out and relax for a day or two.

We are happy to assist you in finding the right activity while staying with us.
